Meet this week’s FURRY FRIENDS of the WEEK >> Sasha the Dog and Milena the Cat!
Adopt them today at the RISPCA!
Sasha is a 4-year old boxer/pit mix. She looks a bit older, but it’s just premature graying around her face! Sasha’s owner is moving to a place where pets are not allowed so she was brought to the shelter. She has lived with a tiny dog before and they got along fine. Sasha does pull a bit when walking on a leash but she is doing much better after we switched her to a harness. Sasha would love a nice quiet home and a family who would take her for walks. Sasha can be a bit nervous so she would prefer a home without young children. She does have some leg issues that we are monitoring, but she still loves going for short walks.
Milena was brought in as a stray that a family was taking care of but the weather was getting cold, and she obviously needed medical attention. Milena had a really bad flea allergy at the time and required steroids and antibiotics. All of her fur has grown back and she looks great now and is ready for adoption! The vet believes she is about 10 years old and was probably somebody’s cat at one point because she is a very friendly. She does have a flea allergy, so she will need a monthly flea treatment of Advantage so she doesn’t get bit by a flea. If she does, she will likely get very itchy and pull her fur out. Milena is a very sweet lady and will be very happy to spend her senior years living inside rather than out in the elements like she was! She really seems to dislike the other cats, and would probably prefer to be an only pet. She wants to be spoiled now.
