The Red Sox Foundation has three key initiatives to serve need in the community:
· Red Sox Foundation Emergency Hardship Fund – The Red Sox Foundation Emergency Hardship Fund was created to help those who are experiencing food insecurity in New England and Southwest Florida as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Applicants who demonstrate financial hardship are eligible to receive a $250 grocery vendor gift card. Those who need assistance may apply online at redsoxfoundation.org/hardship.
· Personalized Video Board Messages – The Red Sox are offering fans the chance to create their own personalized message on Fenway Park’s John Hancock center field video board as a way to raise funds for the Red Sox Foundation. For a tax-deductible donation of $50, fans can create a text message, and for $100, they can add an image. Fans can visit redsoxfoundation.org/scoreboard to place an order and will receive a digital photo of their message within seven to 10 days.
· IMPACT Award Nominations – The Red Sox Foundation announced nominations for the 6th Annual IMPACT Awards presented by the Ruderman Family Foundation. The awards provide Red Sox fans with the opportunity to nominate their favorite local non-profit organization for the chance to win one of several grants totaling $75,000 distributed through the Red Sox Foundation. The IMPACT Awards are available to non-profits in all six New England states in 2020 to ensure as much support and funding to organizations in need during this crisis.
