Meet Duke and Odie, FURRY FRIENDS of the WEEK! (1/27/20)
Adopt them today at the RISPCA!
Duke, a 1-year-old American Bulldog mix, neutered male
Say hello to Duke! This compact meatball of a pup would like nothing better than a buddy to toss a few tennis balls around and then some couch snuggles. Sounds like a pretty good day, doesn’t it? Duke’s best fit will be in a household with adults where he’ll be the only pet. Our shelter staff has been working on his training and he’s doing sooo well! You should see how good he’s doing with crate training! So good that we’ll be sending him home with his very own crate along with some transition training so he can slip right in easily! Duke is soooo smart. He’s very treat-motivated and so far he’s learned sit, down, wait and take it and stay all in a week!!!! Looking for a smart, loving boy? Then look no further. Duke is ready to give you the royal treatment!
Odie, a 5-year-old domestic shorthair cat, neutered male
Every once in a while you come across a cat who has that glint in his eye that says, “come on, take a chance on me.” Odie is just that cat. Besides being incredibly handsome with his steel grey stripes and piercing green eyes, Odie is also a very resilient boy and is ready to tell you all about a few of his adventurous nine lives he’s already lived. Odie came to the Rhode Island SPCA when he was saved from a hoarding situation. He was one of many, many other cats that we took in and gave them the individual attention that they needed. Although we found him to be friendly with other cats, his play behavior tended to be a bit too much, so now think his best fit will be in a home where he’s someone’s one and only. Because of his rough start in life, Odie may take a bit to warm up to you but once he does, his foster mom and dad want you to know that he’s very playful and loveable. We all believe he deserves another chance and hope you do too:) Odie is in our “Take A Chance On Me” program so his adoption fee has been waived. If you’d like to learn more about Odie or make arrangements to meet him, please contact Cathy at [email protected].
