DUE TO COMMUNITY SUPPORT, THE RHODE ISLAND SPCA
INCREASES REWARD TO $3100.00 FOR ANY INFORMATION
LEADING TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF THE
PERSON WHO PLACED NAILS INSIDE OF HOTDOGS
[Riverside, Rhode Island, May 11, 2020] — The Rhode Island SPCA announced today
that the initial $1000.00 reward offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of
the person responsible for placing nails inside of hot dogs, and then spreading them in the
Thurston Avenue are of Newport has been increased to $3100.00 due to donations received
from concerned citizens in our community.
“Having investigated many cases like this in the past, I know offering a reward can often
encourage someone to come forward with helpful information. It’s incompressible how someone
could commit such a malicious act and hopefully, this increase to the reward will help bring this
person to justice”, says Rhode Island SPCA President, Joe Warzycha.
